Housing Security
Housing Security
What does it feel like to lose your home?
We don’t want our neighbors to find out.
Housing security has become our community’s biggest need today. One emergency — such as car repairs or a medical bill — can mean the difference between getting by and being evicted. This is especially true for families experiencing financial distress.
What happens at United Way when the community faces a new challenge? We pivot and provide the support needed for our neighbors to thrive.
That’s why we recently launched the Renew Collaborative, an eviction-prevention program.
Eviction is disruptive for families. It can lead to job loss and poor education and health outcomes.
Eviction is expensive for landlords. Legal fees, cleaning expenses and lost rent mean the cost of eviction sometimes exceeds the back rent due.
With your gift, more people will receive help through the Renew Collaborative.
When you give today, more people can stay in their homes so they aren’t set back on their path to economic well-being.
